Abstract

Emerging technology trends such as IoT, Big Data, Autonomous Vehicle, Machine Learning and others is giving huge impact to humanity. These trends is helping the humans (and machines) in many ways such as prediction using the artificial intelligence and IoT, enhancing data exchanges and analytics with each other in an unprecedented manner. In this paper, we review IoT implementation in monitoring environmental conditions of the crops and farm in the agriculture sector. With IoT, additional command, control and optimization features can be implemented where the farmers can remotely control the controllers or actuators connected to the microcontroller in order to ensure the crop can get a timely response when required. In this paper study a concise perspective of IoT implementations in the agriculture sector is elaborated to increase the productivity of the farm for the future, as well as securing continuous food supply which is a focus in today’s climate change scenario. We summarize that IoT implementations gives positive impacts to the agriculture sector as well as an increase in food security and quality of life in general.
