Abstract

Infusion approach involves the incorporation of thinking skills into of the instructional process. Only one thinking skill will be chosen in this strategy depending on the suitability of the topic or skill to be taught. There are many thinking programs introduced to develop students' thinking skills. Most studies done reviewed on thinking skills such as critical thinking skills, creative thinking skills and cognitive thinking skills. Thus, this paper presents a research on infusion approach in teaching thinking skills. It specifically investigates whether the approach yields positive or negative outcomes on students' thinking. There are 10 articles and thesis selected as a review for this study. Finding reveals that infusion approach could be applied in teaching thinking in any subject. This is based on the emphasis given on thinking skill elements and the crucial roles of teachers in enhancing students' higher order thinking which can encourage active learning among students.
