Abstract
A dual-band textile Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) sheet-like waveguide with two single-band textile diamond dipole antennas made of fleece fabric have been designed and presented in the report. The AMC structure is designed to have zero reflection phase at 2.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz with the aim to improve the transmission between antennas. The performances of two antennas with textile AMC sheet have been investigated and compared in two different environments. The S21 transmission between two antennas is enhanced for up to a maximum of 30 dB when a textile AMC sheet was placed beneath them if compared to the free space environment. Significant transmission and antennas' gain improvement have been observed for off-body placements. The enhancement of the transmission is realized by the in-phase reflection characteristic of the AMC structure.
