Metaheuristic has recently shown satisfied results for solving Combinatorial Optimization (CO) problems. Although metaheuristic can't guarantee optimal solutions, it has delivered dramatic computational time reduction than complete algorithm yet still producing good solutions. In general, metaheuristic solves combinatorial optimization problems by guided search in the solution space. Balancing between intensification and diversification in the solution space is an important factor to produce good solutions with acceptable computation time. Intensification and diversification depend on parameters used in the respective metaheuristic methods. This paper evaluates parameters tuning methods in several metaheuristics published in the literature. The evaluation is based on three categories; what parameters are tuned, what systems are used, and how tuning is made. This evaluation will be used as a basis for improving parameters tuning methods for metaheuristic.
