This research addresses problems in construction industry equipment maintenance management. Specifically, it examines the major constraints of the implementation of the preventive maintenance (PM) programs in this sector. Generally today there is no properly planned maintenance management in the construction industry. Currently it was discovered, that most of the companies tend to use traditional maintenance management system. This study attempts to find solution and ease the obstacles impeding the implementation of PM programs in construction projects’ equipment. Furthermore, the research proposes a better framework for construction equipment maintenance management and it also provides a model of PM programs implementation, which is modifiable to suit any construction company. Researcher employed questionnaire and face-to- face interviews respectively to elicit data concerning the subject from some Malaysian construction companies. Results from the survey are indicative and need more researchers to investigate this topic further.
