Abstract

In the past two decades, layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly has been proven to be a convenient and versatile method to fabricate functional films. Preparations of LbL assembly possess enhanced mechanical stability, and allow deposition of a significantly increased amount of materials and the integration of multiple functions. The layer by layer deposition technique has been applied to the design the polymer polyelectrolytes films appropriate for vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB). In this work we describe the properties of LbL polymer. The best results from this study are shown on LBL 3 because of the existence of several functional on that. The band of C-N is strengthened and blue shift from 1028.61 cm- 1 to 1007.66 cm- 1. Furthermore, the band of N-OH showing at 1286 cm- 1. The spectrum show the broad band at 3297.19 cm- 1 is assigned to the stretching vibration of -OH in the end of polymer chain. The band at 2933.40cm- 1 is attributed to the stretching vibration of -CH2-. The band at 1634 cm- 1 is assigned to 2 stretching vibration of the free carbonyl groups. The bands at 2933.16 cm- 1 are corresponded to the in-plane and out-plane swaying vibration of C-H, respectively. The band at 1280.68 cm- 1 is assigned to the anti-symmetric and symmetric stretching vibration of N-OH.
