Abstract

In this new era, there are a lot of challenges that a leader needs to face. Many leadership styles were hence proposed by different scholars. Servant leadership, although the concept being pointed out around thirty to forty years ago, it can be found from ancient culture, society and different religions. Servant leaders are leaders who possess characteristics like caring, willing to listen and empower their employees. In fact, servant leadership can be beneficial to organizations. In this study, there is a brief discussion on the characteristics of servant leadership. Then, the importance of servant leader is identified. Recommendations for future research will be elaborated at the end of this study.Servant leadership, Job satisfaction
