Abstract

Reverse micellar system form by anionic dioleyl phosphoric acid, DOLPA with isooctane as solvent is used to extract the erythromycin. The partitioning of erythromycin in forward extraction is depends on several effects like pH of the of the aqueous phase, ionic strength (salt concentration), initial antibiotic concentration and surfactant concentration. The forward extraction will be high at pH 8, low ionic strength, low initial antibiotic concentration and high surfactant concentration. The backward extraction which influenced by the pH of the aqueous phase and the salt concentration will be efficient at pH 3 and high salt concentration.
