Abstract

This article presents a design of a compact T-shaped power divider implementing a ground-slotted technique operating at frequency band of 2 to 9 GHz. This designed power divider is realized by using Rogers 4003C substrate having the thickness of 0.508 mm with dielectric constant of 3.38 and 35 μm copper coating. The designed divider is simulated with commercially available CST Microwave Studio. The optimum performance of the designed power divider is subjected to a slot placed at the bottom layer of ground plane, underneath port 2 and 3. Whereby, it can be noted that the bandwidth performance is enhanced and the length of required transmission line at output arms is reduced by using ground slotted technique. Apart from that, the size of divider has been reduced to the size of 26 mm × 17 mm from initial size without the use of slots (37.27 mm × 17 mm). Optimum performance is achieved over a wideband frequency of 2 to 9 GHz.
