Abstract

In this paper, a rectangular dielectric resonator antenna for wireless local area network application is presented. By using a single DRA block, multiple modes can be generated by introducing a notch on the DRA thus producing multiple frequencies. The proposed rectangular DRA with a notch is made up from high permittivity (ε r =30) Eccostcok HiK material which can operate at 2.45GHz, 5.2GHz and 5.8GHz. The antenna has been fabricated and tested. A good measurement and simulation results in term of reflection coefficient and radiation pattern are achieved.
