Abstract

The Malaysian m-Government is one of the government’s initiatives for Malaysian citizens to provide quick and easy access to the information at anytime and anywhere. The increasing rates of penetration and use of mobile devices in Malaysia have a positive impact on the implementation of government services. This study discusses the implementation of m-Government services in Malaysia, covering the types of m-Government services and status of implementation. This study used a positivist paradigm and a survey method. 200 surveys were distributed at five selected agencies, namely MPM, MOE, JPJ, JPN and KDPDNKK. Results from the surveys show that most of Malaysian citizens are aware of m-Government services but the utilization among citizens are still low. The government needs to focus on user requirement based on their user profiling to provide the best and appropriate m-Government services among citizens.
