Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between transformational leadership style of principals and teachers’ job satisfaction. The study involved 100 teachers who were teaching in a secondary school in Kuala Kangsar, Perak. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics in terms of frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation to determine the level of transformational leadership style of principals and teachers’ job satisfaction. ANOVA was used to compare teachers’ perceptions of transformational leadership of principals and teachers’ job satisfaction based on demographic factors. Pearson’s correlation was used to examine any significant relationships between transformational leadership style of principals and teachers’ job satisfaction. The results show that there are high correlations between the practices of transformational leadership style of principals and teachers’ job satisfaction. The findings suggest for national schools, State Education Department and Ministry of Education to apply suitable transformational leadership style in achieving effective educational outcomes.
