Abstract
The aims of this study are to identify the current approach of student-centered learning (SCL) implementation and to investigate the current learning space used in SCL implementation by lecturers and students. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the research procedure was designed where a qualitative method was chosen. University A was taken as a sample with four types of faculty involved in the research. Four lecturers and four students from the four different types of faculty were involved in interview and observations. Then, the obtained data were analyzed using content analysis. The results show that different faculty has different way in implementing SCL. Furthermore, most of the classrooms also have the traditional arrangement and facilities that require students and lecturers to modify the seating to form group discussion. Therefore, this study is expected to enlighten the higher education stakeholders to implement SCL in existing class setting. This enable the teaching and learning process to be more effective.
