Tahap keberkesanan media interpretasi personal dan grafik di Taman Negara Tanjung Piai

Abstract

The tourism industry is known as a rapidly growing industry throughout the world. An interpretation of a particular tourism area specifically in an environmental protection type of area bears the purpose of conveying information as well as educating visitors. Such process is to raise visitors’ understanding using interpretation resources that exist throughout the visited area. The purpose of this study is to identify the types of interpretation media that has been established as an attraction and interest among secondary school students in Tanjung Piai National Park. This study emphasises on the effectiveness level of the existing interpretation among secondary school students. Apart from that, the appropriate views and suggestions for the improvement of interpretation media effectiveness are also acquired. Subsequently, data analysis process is implemented using frequency percentage, mean score, and standard deviation methods. Study findings have revealed that the main interpretation media option of choice among secondary school students is the notice board. Apart from that, it has been discovered that there are three media that are more effective as opposed to four interpretation media. Three of the aforementioned media are guide book/leaflet/brochure, exhibition gallery, and guide/ranger/interpreter. It is hoped that results of this study findings are able to assist national park management in improving its’ quality of available services to the visitors.
