Abstract
Water is getting scarce. Many countries are already facing problems to access clean, safe drinking water. The expending world population seems to be the culprit. It becomes more complicated with uncontrolled usage, public's ignorance and ineffective water management. This qualitative study is exploratory in nature. It analyses existing documents on Malaysian water management and governance. Early finding reveals existing water governance lacks good management and there are legal vacuums. This paper promotes appropriate water management policies and strategies at both the federal and state levels, relevant agencies, stakeholders and local communities in ensuring sustainable water resources and supply.
