Abstract

Microstrip patch antennas are versatile in terms of their geometrical shapes and implementation, microstrip patch antennas have extensive application in communication system due to their light weight, low volume, simple and inexpensive, easy to design and fabrication technology, mechanically robust when mounted rigid surface, conformal nature and the capability of ready integration with the communication system. This report is to present a microstrip patch antenna for (ADS-B) System application at 1090MHz is designed and implemented. A microstrip antenna line feed double T- slots are proposed, the proposed antenna is fed through 50 ohm microstrip line with T-slot at the back to achieve some high degree of miniaturization. The overall size of the antenna is 82mm x 65 mm with the electrical length of 0.298? x 0.236? at frequency of 1090MHz. From the experimental results obtained ,the antenna resonates at 1090MHz which is make a suitable for the (ADS-B) application with omnidirectional radiation pattern and return loss, The design is validated by measurement and simulated result are compared and the antenna meets the requirement of the application
