Abstract

Preferences to use Green Vehicle within eco-park are the main focus in this study. The importance of Green Vehicle in improving air quality been highlighted as to response to the issue in impacts of carbon emissions towards environment especially within eco-parks which need to be preserved. The contradiction in concept outline in ecotourism theory was identified when in reality, the conventional fuel combustion vehicles are still operating in ecotourism parks. Green Vehicle has potential in addressing this issue therefore preferences to implement it need to be study. Thus, three research objectives highlighted to ensure the goal of this study can be achieved. These three objectives are first, (1) To study the importance of green vehicle concepts and its benefits in ecotourism industry, second (2) To identify the negative impacts of carbon emissions by conventional vehicle towards environment preservation within the eco-parks, and third (3) To study preferences and potential of green vehicle to be implemented within ecotourism parks. Stated-Preference method was used in survey design as to acquire feedback on people’s choice between the Green Vehicle and conventional vehicle. Data collected was compute using SPSS software for the result findings. Findings from this survey are test through Gamma Statistical test method as to analyse signification level of influence relationship between the variables. Results highlighted 94% of respondents from total of 200 respondents in this study have agree to prefer green vehicle operation within the ecoparks in the near future. Therefore, the initiative to change to Green Vehicle as the means of mobility within parks is highly recommended in order to assist the significant of preservation within eco-parks in Malaysia.
