Abstract

Road accident is considered among the major contributor to the number of fatalities in the world. There are many activities and program organized by most of the countries in the world to develop a sense of awareness among the people about road accident thus hoping for the rate of accident to be decrease. Among the programs include enforcement by the authorities and awareness campaign. Malaysia is one of the countries where the number of accident is increasing. One of the program developed by the government is the road safety education in school which gazetted by government to be included in school learning process. This study aims to measure the level of understanding among the student about road safety. Besides, it is also to identify whether outside classroom practical training and involvement from parent are to be included in the road safety education syllabus. The result analysed using “Z test” shows that students are well understand about road safety and able to answer the questions given. Also, the result shows that students need outside classroom practical training together with the involvement by their parents in the road safety syllabus.
