Kesan emosi yang dihadapi oleh wanita yang bercerai akibat keganasan rumahtangga: satu kajian di negeri Johor

Abstract

Current qualitative study examined the impact of emotions experienced by young women who are divorced due to domestic violence a case study in Johor. This study aimed at getting young women's perception of the factor of domestic violence, which causes emotional effects and self adjustments.This study was conducted on young divorce women living in Johor Bahru, Johor. An interview completely analysed the main theme and sub-themes to support the findings. These data were analyzed using Nvivo software to restructure in line with the themes derived from interview respondents. The result showed that two themes of domestic violence factors which were recorded the highest frequency with 88.8 percent of the aspects of economic and physical violence. Theme effects of emotional depression, stress and trauma also registered 88.8 percent, followed with theme self adapting method 77.7 percent and the theme of support needed recorded 100 percent said get support from family and 44.4 percent received support from the Department of Social Welfare. Finding shows that counseling and psychological services should focus on the emotional distress experienced by young women who are divorced due to domestic violence.
