Abstract

Soil Hook System (SHS) is an innovative soil anchor. This paper presents an innovative and efficient system of anchor in loose sand. However the previous works were mainly performed on regular and symmetrical anchor plates but SHS is an irregular shape anchor. Two sizes of irregular shape anchors, 159 mm and 297 mm were used the non-symmetry anchor employed in the system contribute to its good performance and high pull-out load capacity. An important innovation of this system is due to its special shape and the method of installation where is does not require excavation and grouting. The experimental research included in the research was performed on Soil Hook System which was conducted in a chamber box based on embedded ratio 1-7. SHS is compatible withstand the symmetrical anchor plates as determined by other researchers.
