Abstract
In the the past, man has represented his world, his region, his local geography, using maps and written description. A collection of maps and written words that describe the place can be thought of as a system or as a geographic information system(GIS). The idea of a geographic information system has really come about since the advent of computers and their ability to store, retrieve manipulate and in short manage geographic information with the great powers of computers.
