Abstract
The main purpose of this research is to examine the teachers and students perception of teaching and learning Science and Mathematics In English. The research was divided into two parts that is to see the confidence and assumption among teachers and students in teaching and learning Science and Mathematics after the annulment of ETeMS. This research involved only 40 teachers and 80 Form One students from four secondary school around Pontian District. The samples were chosen from Malay, Chinese and Indian teachers and students. The result of this research indicates that the students? assumption (min=4.02) is more compared to students? confidence (min=3.87) on the annulment of ETeMS. As for teachers, the teachers? confident (min=3.92) is more compared to teachers? assumption (min=3.82). Lastly, there was no significant differences between Malay and Chinese students to study Science and Mathematics in Bahasa Melayu after the annulment of ETeMS. The result might give benefit to teachers, students, parents and also school adminitrators to prepare for the changes and try to identify the best methods for continuing the teaching and learning Science and Mathematics in Bahasa Melayu.
