Abstract

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) etched its history and standing amongst the nation’s premier institutions of higher learning since the proclamation of its establishment on April 1, 1975. Although the name UTM only became known after that sacred date, the seed of its formation was planted in as early as 1904. The spirit and mission for the establishment of a centre of technical education in this country, however, went through a long and tumultuous journey.
