Abstract

The primary aim of this research is to investigate the possibilities of using ring as bluff body for the flame stabilization. The second objective is to study the flame characteristics by changing the parameters such as different types of bluff body, the equivalent ratio for the fuel and the different ratio of Reynolds numbers. From the observation, the stability region for the different type of bluff body depends on the two main parameters namely Reynolds number and the equivalence ratio. By using a bluff body, reacting fluid can be stabilized without being attached to the burner port. Otherwise without the ring the reacting fluids will be stabilized at the burner port when it propagates.
