Abstract

Geographical Information System (GIS) has been widely used in many fielsd and applications. At present there are many GIS software in the market. Hence, user should select appropriate GIS software in helping thme to solve their problem. GIS is also known as map maker and visualization aid. There is a common saying that `a picture worth a thousand words'. In the real estate, it is a common understanding that the value and the potential value of a property are fundamentally determined by it's location. This emphasizes the importance of spatial factor in decision making in real estate. GIS is undoubtedly useful in this aspect. The purpose of this study is to use GIS with Decision Support System (DSS) to find location for rent or buy the property according to the user need by applying inquires and to find satisfaction location. This study focuses on the environment surrounding the property that effect the selection such as schools, universities, hospitals, parks, shopping centers and other point of interest. By using Euclidean distance function, it will help the user to choose a house that has the biggest weight and ranked the entire selections from most likely match to lowest match. So the user can see the report and select the optimal case that matches their need. A report will also be generated for the match cases and finally the user could decide for the best location of the property.
