Abstract

This project is dealing with the new development of the probability theory that established which approach to the risk assessment analysis study that based on standard IEC 6230S series protection against lightning. The risk assessment analysis study is analysed based on sources of damage, types of damage and types of loss by lightning strike. Besides that, the procedure of risk assessment analysis study and the way of assessment with different risk components are also being proposed and discussed in this project in order to perform the protection measurement for the isolate structure. On the other hand, the lead to evaluate the impact of different protection measures such as lightning protection system (LPS), shielding of structure, cables & equipment and surge protection device in reducing such probabilities are also considered by lightning protection level (LPL) is applied. Nowadays, there are a lot of downloadable free tool kits where allow end user to explore to the new era of Information Technology World that extended approach to latest source of learning information, gaining on individual general knowledge, encouragement of creativity, gaining on geography knowledge and etc. Presently, there is one of the most famous example is Google Earth. Google Earth is a virtual globe, map and geographical information program that image viewed obtained from satellite imagery and aerial photography. Moreover, the image can be viewed in 3D with the latest version where enhance vivid of image. Since this project is researched and performed for LPS design to the real isolate structure of new development at its latitude and longitude, Google Earth shall be the most suitable in order to represent and act as a source of reference for LPS design to the isolate structure by 3D model with declaration of its lightning protection system data for future LPS design to other isolate structure by other LPS designer. At the moment, the method shall be the new approach.
