Abstract

Speaker recognition can be classified into two categories; Speaker Verification (SV) and Speaker Identification (SI). A generic speaker recognition system is shown in Fig. 1. In Fig. 1, the desired features are first extracted from the speech signal. Speaker verification is the task of accepting or rejecting the identity of a speaker claimed to be someone. Speaker Identification is the task of finding the identity of an unknown speaker among a stored database of speakers.
