Abstract

This study was performed to examine the theoretical approach that can be used against the client in solving a problem. This study was conducted on a client at a school in Ulu Tiram, Johor who was experience problems in life. This study focuses on emotional problem of this student that leading to behaviour problem The emotional disturbance of this client leads to behavior problem which makes the client involves in truancy problem. This study was conducted to provide a one-time counseling session and has been running almost 45 minutes only. In this study, counselor try to teach the client to dispute irrational belief in the client. Counselor also have to apply for permission to record the session as a reference. Appropriate theory that has been applied in the implementation of this counseling session is Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy(REBT).This theory is suited as a brief therapy for this client as the client feel emotional disturbance in her life.
