Regression analysis is an approach used to study the relationships between variables, especially for the purpose of understanding how one variable relates or depends on one or more of other variables. This is done by fitting straight lines, curves, or surfaces, to sets of observations. The equation is then used to estimate values of one dependent variable from known values of independent variables. One of the most frequently used procedures for estimating regression coefficients is the least squares method
