Abstract

Electroplating is one of the common processes for coating metallic objects and pretreatment sequences are necessary in order to enable certain metals to be electroplated with adherent coating, this need is due to the presence with present of a very thin oxide layer which forms due to chemical reactivity of the metal concerned. The aim of this project is to study the suspension of carbon nano tubes and synthesize a Ni-CNT composite coating by electro deposition using direct plating. On the other hand the effect of electrodeposition parameters such as current density and deposition time on the adhesions and mechanical properties of deposition have been studied. The deposited Ni-CNT composite coating would be characterized by SEM, Optical Micrograph, FESEM, EDAX and Micro mechanical testing.
