Abstract

This study investigates performance of annular wrap around recuperator for microturbine. Analytical and numerical methods are used to obtain the solutions. Several cross corrugated surface arrangements with different ratios of pitch over internal height are studied. The study shows cross-corrugated surface with ratio of pitch over internal height of 2.2 and inclined angle of 15% performs the best among all the arrangements (CC2.2-75) explored. The highest Nussselt number obtained for CC2.2-75 shows difference of 70% with the CC4-37.
