Abstract
This paper reports on the outcomes of evaluation recently conducted on Small Medium Enterprises (SME) in Malaysia with respect to a newly developed Software Process Improvement model called iSPA. It is conducted based on identified critical success factors for a software project to be successful. Initially, the evaluation investigates on the core process and best practices for a software project management and implementation. It also looks at the feasibility and acceptability of software companies to achieve this model and ended up with a tool development. The evaluation findings indicate the acceptance towards a new SPI methodology and relevance of the prototype tool to mitigate and assist in SPI implementation in an organization
