Abstract

Problem Statement: The purpose of the study was to explore and describe the perceived competency, importance, and educational needs in online learning technology competencies of technical and vocational teachers in Malaysia. A survey was conducted involving a population of teachers at Technical and Vocational Schools in Malaysia. Data were gathered via mailed questionnaire. The lowest Online Learning Technology educational needs of Malaysia technical and vocational education teacher was found to be compose a new e-mail. Effective use of distance learning desktop video conferencing, and tele-teaching technologies distance learning desktop video conferencing, and tele-teaching technologies were on the top of the list of educational needs among the items of OLT. The educational needs increased when the OLT skills were more complicated.
