The new era of classrooms at school has transformed itself from manual system to computer-aided learning. The pedagogy style and curricula have changed accordingly, thus the needs for lab management system is crucial. Most of the available software for schools are under content-based category. Less emphasis was given on management aspect of the classroom itself (lab). The needs for this lab management software arise due to several misbehaviors demonstrated by students in the lab. Usually each student will be seated with a computer in front of him/her and the instructor normally will stand at the front facing the audience in the lab. With an individual screen and without an instructor standing next to him/her, student will easily get distracted during the lecture due to the urge to check e-mails and browsing the websites. It is difficult to disengage the students from images and content on the monitors. These misbehaviors an annoy to instructor. This paper focuses on the development of lab management software that facilitates the management of class and to maintain student attention and enhance instructional delivery. A few exciting lab management software have been studied to derived common features expected. The system that we have developed called "Smart Laboratory Real-time Management System" (SLRTMS) has most of the identified features derived from instructors' and students' view points.
