The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between learning motivation, parenting styles and attitudes of students with academic achievement. The sample of this research were chosen stratified randomly from 291 fourth formers from eight secondary schools in Kulai district, Johor. The pilot study was done in order to determine the reliability and suitability of the questionnaires. Meanwhile Cronbach Alpha was used to determine the internal consistency of the questionnaires. The reliability value of Cronbach Alpha for the whole set of questionnaires used was 0.948. The questionnaires for learning motivation and attitudes of students were created and modified based on the instrument that had been used by the other researchers in the previous studies and pyschological approached in order to prepare many level of questions based on the objectives of the research. Data analysis was done descriptively by using the means, frequencies, percentages and standard deviations in order to analyze the dominant factors in intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation and level of students’ academic achievement. Meanwhile the inferential statistical such as Pearson correlations were used at the significant level 0.05 in order to determine the relationship between learning motivation, parenting styles and attitudes of students with academic achievement. Other than that, t-test was also used to determine the significant difference between learning motivation, parenting styles and attitudes of students according to their home location. Research results showed that the aim factor was the dominant factor in intrinsic motivation, meanwhile the grade factor was the dominant factor in extrinsic motivation. Pearson correlations analysis showed no significant relationship between learning motivation, parenting styles and attitudes of students with academic achievement. Therefore, the research suggested that efforts have to be done in improving the learning motivation and academic achievement among the students.
