Abstract

Push-tests are usually used to determine the behaviour of shear connectors because they are inexpensive and easy to carry out. The behaviour of shear connectors can be studied from the relationship between the shear force transmitted and the slip at the interface. The aims of the push-tests were to study the shear capacity, the ductility, and the mode of failure of the studs. Five tests were carried out for a new type of shear connector system installed by compressed air. Three tests were carried out for concrete slab without profile metal decking and two test with profile metal decking of different pattern. Load from the test rig was applied continuously with certain increment until failure. For each test a graph was plotted for load versus slip. The overall results showed that the new form of shear connector has a less ductile behaviour than conventional welded shear studs. It can be concluded that the tests failed due to fracture of the pins whereas the stud system requires some improvements to increase its structural properties. Abstract Ujian tolak biasanya dibuat bagi menentukan kelakukan sambungan ricih kerana harganya tidak mahal dan senang untuk dilakukan. Kelakuan sambungan ricih boleh dikaji daripada hubungan di antara daya ricih yang dikenakan dengan kegelinciran pada permukaan. Tujuan diadakan ujian tolak ini adalah untuk mempelajari keupayaan ricihan, kemuluran, dan bentuk kegagalan stad. Lima ujian telah dijalankan bagi sistem sambungan ricih jenis baru ini yang dipasang menggunakan tekanan angin. Tiga ujian telah dijalankan bagi papak konkrit tanpa mempunyai geladak logam profil dan dua ujian mempunyai geladak logam profil dengan corak berlainan. Beban daripada pengendali ujian telah dikenakan berterusan dengan kenaikan tertentu sehingga gagal. Bagi setiap ujian satu graf dilukis bagi beban lawan gelinciran. Keputusan ujian keseluruhan menunjukkan yang sambungan ricih baru ini bersifat kurang mulur dibandingkan dengan stad ricih kimpalan biasa. Adalah dapat dirumuskan di sini yang ujian ini telah gagal disebabkan pecahan di mana sistem stad ini perlu dibaiki lagi bagi meningkatkan sifat-sifat strukturnya.
