Abstract

The purpose of this project is to develop an "IKM Student Intake System" to be used at MARA. This system is an enhancement of current system developed using 4GL, PowerHouse. IT department processes the qualification; meanwhile users update the placement for the student. In order to handle the student recruitment, with new requirements, and to solve a problem facing by users, a new system needs to be developed. The enhancement of the system developed using web based technology, with new environment and features of the system. The system processes data from Optical Mark Reader and online application. The courses offered, or changes in qualification criteria can be done by owner of the system. The intake process cycle can be repeated several times if the quota is not filled. The exact count of students who attend the registration process is vital for this purpose. This system is also able to access by colleges and MARA’s management. Waterfall model is chosen as the software development model and DOD2167A is chosen as the software standard. Software processes that were implemented include the requirement and specifications, design, testing and implementation. From these processes, the end products are software documents (Software Requirement Specifications, Interface Requirement Specifications, Software Testing Description and Software Design Document).
