Abstract
This study aims to identify the strengths and weaknesses of engineering students' information literacy knowledge. It also identifies the common misconceptions and mistakes students make. The respondents in the pilot study have undergone at least three semesters at a Malaysian college. Data are collected using a survey instrument adapted from Mittermeyer and Quirion and analyzed using SPSS. The results of this study show that the respondents seriously lack information skills especially in evaluating internet information, identifying the most efficient search strategy and using information ethically.
