This paper discusses a simple but novel method of texturing of building fa-cades for 3D city modeling that is based on dynamic pulse function. Several methods have been proposed for generating 3D city models and with certain applications. These applica-tions can be categorized into game engines, indoor and outdoor navigation systems for tourists, pedestrians and drivers, Web related applications such as Google Earth, Microsoft Virtual Earth, Web map/feature services, CityGML and military, and security systems. In this paper, we survey different methods of 3D city modeling. The main concept of our me-thod is to generate high quality output image file with a very small size in volume. This can be mapped on the related light weighted geometry. This method can be utilized for any type of building façade such as historical and heritage landmarks. The specification of these landmarks is almost repeating a part of construction in the vertical, horizontal or both directions. The advantage of small size and high quality gives us the opportunity of using the method both for navigation systems on smart phones and also Web-based applications. We also discuss different 3D formats such as VRML, X3D and CityGML and the conver-sion between these formats. This paper also discusses rendering phenomena such as 'Z-Fighting'. The last section of the paper discusses the uploading of the generated 3D mod-els to Google Earth 3D warehouse network link.
