Abstract

This paper presents a comparison studies on uniform pricing, nodal pricing and game theory in congestion cost allocation. This study is restricted to pool-based electricity market only. Initially, the paper discuss on the congestion management in pool market and followed by the application of uniform pricing, nodal pricing and game theory in allocating the congestion cost. Those methods are compared in attempting to know pro and cons of each method. To give a clear picture, two case studies using three bus and IEEE-14 bus system are presented. The results from the simulation are analysed and concluded.
