Abstract

Neuromotor movement activity has complexity in various aspects especially in fine motor functions which include repetitive and sequential movement. This research measures the performance of neuromotor movement of children aged 5 to 6 years old. The subject included 25 children comprising 15 boys and 10 girls. The research was done using Zurich Neuromotor Assessment which consisted of measuring the repetitive movement to finger, hand and foot; measuring the alternating movement to hand and foot and measuring the sequential movement to finger. Overall, the children were scored the average mean of 2. The average score of movement show that the sequential movement is the most difficult and followed by the alternating movement and the repetitive movement which proved to be an easier movement. The result of independent t-test showed that there was a significant difference between the boys and girl (t=2.632, p=0.015) showed the repetitive movement for dominant hand. There was a relationship between age and repetitive movement for the dominant foot (r=0.455, p=0.02, p<0.05). Finding showed that this particular group of children is at a moderate level of performance in neuromotor movement. Therefore, neuromotor movement skill program is needed to increase their performance.
