Abstract

Learning styles is one of the elements that determine how a student learned. This study was conducted to determine the pattern of learning styles among undergraduate students from physics education programme in University Technology of Malaysia. Besides, this study also aimed to determine the level of learning styles for all the respondents relate to their academic achievement. 66 respondents were involved in this study. A questionnaire consisting 44 items that was used in this study is constructed by Richard M. Felder and Barbara Soloman (1996) which are related to four dimensions of learning styles that are active and reflective, concrete and intuitive, visual and verbal and also sequence and global. The result of the study showed that the learning style patterns of respondents is quite similar with the respondent in year 2 which can be categorized in active, intuitive, visual and sequence while the respondent in year 3 and 4 were in active, concrete, visual and sequence categories.
