Abstract

An aquarium is a vivarium of any size having at least one transparent side in which aquatic plants or animals are kept and displayed. For a group of people, who has a passion and hobby with aquarium, sometimes they make major investment of resources including money, time and energy for their aquarium. Sometimes there are also the needs to monitor the aquarium 24/7 such as monitoring the pH level of the water in their aquarium. The aquarium owner might be away from where their aquarium is for an extended period of time which disallow them from constantly monitoring their aquarium's pH level to ensuring it is at a healthy level. This can cause the destruction of the aquatic flora and fauna that they've invested into. Thus, the main objective of this project is to develop a mini submarine for aquarium monitoring. This mini submarine will be integrated with a mobile application. The mini submarine, which developed with Raspberry Pi 4 and Arduino UNO along with a camera module, DC pumps and pH sensor module, able to navigate autonomously on a predetermined trajectory along with seamless monitoring. In a nutshell, the implementation of this system provided the user with a higher degree of oversight for their aquarium. The system requirements and functionalities such as photo capture, video recording, live streaming, pH level data and movement control have been achieved during the development of this project.
