Abstract
Blank spots are an important problem that must be overcome in wireless communication. Metamaterials, with their ability to reflect electromagnetic signals with good efficiency, are believed to be able to overcome this problem. In this paper, a metamaterial with a circular patch unit-cell for reflector applications that operates at a frequency of 3.5 GHz is proposed. Software for electromagnetic analysis (CST) is used to optimize the unit cell and see its performance as a reflector. The research results obtained a 91.4% reflected power percentage, 0.005% absorbed power percentage, and a reflection angle of -6.77°. These results show that the proposed device has good properties for future reflecting intelligent applications.
