Abstract

Preliminary results on predicted alpha decay half-lives of Og isotopes are presented. Calculations of the binding energy were performed using the Skyrme-mean-field-plus-Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer model. Four types of empirical alpha decay half-lives formula with a total of eight sets of parameters were considered. Results indicated that the N = 184 is the next spherical magic number with both of the Skyrme SkM* and SLy5 parametrizations considered in this study.
