Abstract

Environmental challenges have become a critical global issue due to concerns about environmental sustainability. It is time to seize the opportunity to tackle the challenge. The Information Technology (IT) industry significantly impacts the environment as its utilization growth is caused by massive energy consumption. Hence, Green Information Technology (Green IT) is recognized as one of the keys to achieving environmental sustainability. Furthermore, this study gave an approach to how Green IT could play a beneficial role for organizations. Hence, this study focuses on Green IT, examines the opportunities in organizations, and discusses their challenges to improving environmental sustainability.
