Abstract

The national creative industry is growing every year. Currently, the increase in the growth of the national creative industry reaches 7%. The largest contributor to national GDP are the craft subsector, then the fashion subsector and followed by the advertising subsector. To maximize the use and value of technology in the Creative Industries, according to the research, the focus of future research should be on technologies that facilitate greater personalization, increase the user interaction and user engagement. The development of proposed innovative technologies in the Creative Industries is assessed in terms of the maturity of their technology in the short, medium and long term, and is assessed as 'ready' (1-2 years), or 'possible' (2-5 years), or 'probable' (5-10 years or more) (Abbasi, 2017). In Indonesia there has been no research that discussed the use of technology for creative industries in the field of crafts and batik in accordance with the industrial era 4.0. The objectives of this study are: 1) To Analyze the factors affecting craft and batik MSMEs in Indonesia to use technology in product innovation, 2) To discuss the effect of technology use on product innovation. The conducted research involves a total of fifty (50) MSMEs crafting and batik as respondents. A set of questionnaires consist of the demographics of respondents. Factors that affect the use of technology for innovation / product development are the availability factor of technology information, financial condition factors, technology availability factors so that these factors are important to be considered in product innovation or development. The effect that increases the use of technology in design innovation or production process or digital marketing is increased sales and expensive operational costs.
