Abstract
Power system networks operate close to their stability limitations due to several causes. On-load tap-changing transformers are unsuitable due to a sudden increase in load, the loss of electrical system elements and reactive-power mismatches. The consequences of power system instability may lead to force outages, loss of synchronism and damage to the power system's equipment. The voltage stability index (VSI) typically determines the condition of the voltage profile and voltage instability in the power system. The meta-heuristic algorithm was introduced to optimize the location and sizing of the static VAR compensator (SVC). The benefit of the Line Stability Factor (LQP) is its ability to provide a reliable measure of line stability, aiding in optimizing power system operations and ensuring the efficient utilization of resources. Therefore, various metaheuristic technique algorithm was introduced to solve this issue. Metaheuristic technique algorithms were raised by many researchers, such as Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Sine Cosine Algorithm (SCA), Jellyfish Search Algorithm (JSA) and Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO). Therefore, this research aimed to evaluate the performance of the IEEE 30 bus radial distribution system, especially on VSI parameters. Next was to minimize the VSI by finding the best location and sizing multiple units of SVC by using the metaheuristic technique. The metaheuristic technique will be helpful for power utility owners that have low voltage and voltage instability issues.
