Abstract

An organization's business strategy can be aligned with staff skills using a task analysis method. This research article discusses how such a method can be applied to strategic workforce planning. Planning human resources for business objectives requires more than forecasting headcounts and providing agility in people solutions. In this study, we draw on literature from project management, systematic approaches to task analysis, as well as critical analysis of task and individual performance. A project-based services organization's success is closely related to its understanding of its business core processes. With such a fluid and dynamic structure, organization success goes beyond ensuring client satisfaction by addressing technical issues, but also by aligning core processes, such as managing manpower capacity.
